INITIALS
« on: July 17, 2007, 12:38:10 AM »

THE 2006 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SPECIAL INITIALS SHOULD BE (SCS) --- NOT (SDS) ---
Under optiions on each cars window sticker, Ford labeled these cars CALIFORNIA LIMITED EDITION
THIS INCLUDED: INTERIOR UPGRADE, PONY PACKAGE COMPLETE WITH SIDE STRIPE DELETE, OVER THE TOP 10" RACING STRIPES, SPOILER, GT SUSPENSION AND REAR SWAY BAR, ABS & TRACTION CONTROL, 6 DISC CD (SHAKER 500), BRUSHED ALUMINUM DASH, SPECIAL FLOOR MATS W/MUSTANG BADGING ATTACHED, AND OF COURSE THE "SCS" GAS CAP BADGE ON THE REAR.
I AM NOT AWARE OF THE TOTAL PRODUCTION ON THIS MODEL, AS TO MY KNOWLEDGE NO DASH PLAQUES WERE ISSUED WITH THEM.

What was the time frame (Month/Year) that your car was available and when did you purchase it?  I'm trying to determine a timeline.

If the sticker says "California Special Edition" then it is a CE.  It sounds like it was repackaged for the southern California market but the sticker is the key.  Obviously it is the same equipment at the same package price ($1995) on the same V6 model.  This reminds me of the 251 1968 California Specials that were marketed in the Denver District as "High Country Specials".  I'm not saying that is what happened here, but the lack of a dash plaque and a different gas cap makes me wonder.  The Stampede was delivered to dealerships without the plaque and gas cap designations on the cars.  They were with a letter in the glove box and the dealership put them on.   It would be easy enough to change that up at the dealership level.  (Just my opinion!)
